360° COMMUNICATION STRATEGY

USER IMMERSION 

Creative design & playful user experience

SEOUL STARTUPS is a community of more than 600 entrepreneurs taking part into Seoul's start-up ecosystem.

 

The main platform is a Slack dynamic group. To both bring entrepreneurs to the platform and potential patners to the contact form, Seoul Startups needed a new landing page. Using this opportunity to upgrade its brand image, Seoul Startups asked TI-LEA for a new brand identity to decline on its new website.

 

FROM LOGO TO BRAND IMAGE

Seoul Startups' logo already created a strong sense of belonging over the community, we decided to use it at a starting point to build the brand identity. Following its original design, we chose to go for illustrations representing the dynamic city of Seoul : the famous Namsan tower, its modern buildings and its iconic bridges.

 

Since Seoul Startups' asked us for a touch of crazyness, we mixed the realistic architectural elements with a space-like atmosphere. First the spectrum of pastel colors brought a sense of dream, then the stars, flying saucer, astronaut and planets finished to create a creative universe.

SIMPLE UX DESIGN

UX (User experience) Design focused on the global navigation of the users over the tool. It guarantees an easy and confortable experience. In the owner point of view it is designed to maximise the initial objectives of the tool.

In order to make the website efficient and easy to use, we chose a really simple architecture : a scrolling landing page with a fixed menu to navigate from one part to the other. The most important point was the omnipresence and the hierachy of the calls to action. 

Seoul Startups' first objective is to grow its community. To maximise this, the main call to action is the link to the Slack community. We put it both on the first screen and in the fixed headers so it will be the first element when both entering the website and scrolling.

Since the Korean rate of mobile use is superior to 90%, the website architure has been thought since the beginning to be responsive way.

MULTI-LINGUAL UI DESIGN 

UI (User interface) Design focused on the aesthetic design of the elements of the tool defined by the UX Design.

Thanks to the previous and precise work on the UX Design and the Brand Image, the UI Design was easy to undertake.

The only challenging point has been the integration of two languages, English and Korean, in the same landing page, which was a requierement of the client. We decided to create two different experiences and design to integrate the two main parts of text. The first one is the most playful and works with an overflight effect. The second one is a more simple design with two blocks of texts associated with illustrations.

 

MIXING BRAND IMAGE AND UX/UI  DESIGNS TO CREATE AN IMMERSIVE EXPERIENCE

In order to add a sense of immersion for the users, we focused the design of the illustrations on playful details and shapes, which catch their eyes and make them feel in a whole new world.

To strengthen this feeling, the website has a delicate balance of animations. The elements appears through the journey of the user and some are in constant movements such as some of the stars and the astronaut.

The final touch is hidden and is dedicated to the most curious and interactive users : by clicking on some of the shining stars, pop-ups are opening, revealing funny GIFs. This hidden crazy spirit fits perfectly to the playful spirit of the founder and the members of the community and does not disturb the more classical users such as future patners.
